Hey i have a 2007 chevrolet silverado 4.8L and want a cold-air intake system. I was wondering which is the best on adding horse power and gas mileage?

You seem to be confused, HP and MPG dont go hand in hand. Things that boost power use more gas.
short of bypassing your emission controls there isnt much that will increase MPG. But thats Illeagal and you shouldnt do that cause we all breath the same air.
now HP thats a different story. get a super chip for the computer but expect to use premium fuel if you do. next best thing may be NOS. good for showing off and you get to keep your MPG when not using it. if you have the money a turbo is nice but you may need to beef up the engine to handle it.
question:
How fast do you want to go???
answer:
how much money do you have???
does both . best of both worlds
None. None of them actually create more horse power, and non of them actually help on milage. If you’re wanting to add more power, install new headers and an exhaust system, then install the cold air. A cold air system usually doesn’t add any power, or any noticable power. If they say it can add up to 20HP or whatever, thats under the absolute best circomstances, meaning headers, exhaust, and major engine work.
Save your money. Your Chevy is tuned from the factory for maximum HP and fuel mileage for normal driving. While installing a cold air tube won’t hurt you will see NO HP gain under 6000 rpm (even then it will be nominal). You will see far more savings and HP by simply switching off the AC. The truck is already equipped with cold air intake and you can bet that the engineers at GM would have installed one in the plant if it meant more HP and better fuel mileage.
The knock off ones on ebay work just as good as the K+N and at 1/5th the price. I have used both and you wont feel the difference between them. As for creating more horsepower, yes you will see a difference, but like 5 HP, if you open the exhaust on a V-8 you will see 10HP and more.
They’re pretty much all going to be the same.
Don’t expect much mileage or horsepower wise. Maybe 5 horsepower and 1 mile per gallon. And that’s being very generous on the MPG.
