For more awesome projects check out www.EngineerAwesome.com See this project live in person at NI WEEK 2010 in Austin TX Aug 3-5. www.NI.com In part 1 of this episode we give a overview of how we turned an Oldsmobile Delta ’88 into a remote control car in just 4 weeks. We built our control systems using a few motors, potentiometers, a Compact RIO embedded controller, and LabVIEW. We then set up wi-fi communication so we can drive the car from an iPhone as well as from a modified Power Wheels truck. This microfiber glove will make dusting, cleaning and polishing just about any surface on your vehicle (and in your home) a breeze. The Microfiber Detailing Glove has 1000′s of tiny fibers that lift and trap dirt and dust like a magnet. They are also great for getting into those nooks and crannies other cleaning tools can’t touch. For the interior of your vehicle, use them for dusting and polishing your dashboard, console, instrument panel, gauges, vinyl and leather seats, CD player, wood grain, air vents and rearview mirror. You can also use them to apply your favorite protectant to vinyl and leather seats, door panels and dashboards. You can even use them for dusting jobs around the house. It works great!

I am an owner of the Tata Sierra. It is an awesome vehicle, it has a terrific image, and people think you are of high status when you alight from one. Its diesel, and gives 10 kmpl in ride as you please mode in the city. Most of the parts are shared with Tata mobile and Sumo, so no problem for parts whatsoever. The plus points are SUV looks, awesome suspension, solid build Minus points are getting into the rear for old or fat people. I keep my Sierra serviced from Tata, that way even though i end up paying more, it is done very well and not as shoddy as neighborhood mechanics. I bought the vehicle second hand, at 1 lakh. It was in a pretty bad shape as far as interiors and mechanical go. Ive now nursed it back to health and it runs like a dream. Many people call it a white elephant, but the way i look at it is, 1 lakh downpayment and 2000 EMI per month. That way i always stay in profit. Costs me about 24 grand a year in maintenance and that is everything, The Tata Sierra, was a three door sport utility vehicle produced by Tata Motors of India. It was the first automobile to be designed and produced in India.

2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Mean Streak that came to my garage with a slapping noise. Originally thought to be piston slap, turned out to be loose cam chains on BOTH sides at 36k miles! Not only were they loose, but they were diggin into the interior walls of the case. Used to hearing loose chains, but this has em on both sides of the engine which made it sound like the piston instead. Fooled myself and 3 other mechanics. Pulled the engine and broke down the top end, removed the clutch, starter and idler gears and then the rotor on the other side just to get to the lower end cam chain sprocket to release it. Replaced both sets of rings and all new gaskets. Replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the piston heads and valves. After reassembly, I put some Sea Foam in the intakes and mix a bit into a full tank of high test just for an added touch. This was the result of 20 hrs of labor in my garage over the past 2 weekends…. During the first take it set off my car alarm (camera is sitting on the trunk of it). Had to run inside and get my keys to shut it off. This was the second take. LOL
