It’s an automatic 96 Honda Accord. Right after I start my car and I want to go in reverse or put it in drive stepping on the brake and trying to pull the stick does nothing. I literally have to kick the brake for it to start working.

Hello, one of the cars I use, Honda Accord LX 5th gen 4cyl automatic (140k miles) won’t start for some reason. My friend was driving it home from a dentist appointment and a made a stop at Kohl’s. After she came out she tried to start the car, but couldn’t get it to work. Here’s the details:

We take the key and put it in the ignition.
The key will not turn, even with pumping of the brakes.
Shift lock release works if that matters at all.

Please help and I can give any additional information that is needed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a 1998 Honda Accord 4-cylinder, Vtec Coupe. I recently had the 90 K Major service done and now my transmission slips in the morning when it is cold. But it runs normal after it heats up. I took my car to my mechanic and the fluid level is perfect and there is no burning smell on the ATF Fluid. Is my transmission beginning to fail? When I shift to Reverse (After letting it heat up for about 3 minutes) it will take a while for the car to catch up and then a big JERK occurs. When I put it on Drive it takes about 4 seconds before it gets into gear and another big JERK occurs. When I get to the first stop sign, I stop, and while at a stop, the car JERKS again. But once the car heats up it runs normal. Any suggestions?
