Here’s a short clip of the Lethal Performance 2011 5.0L on the dyno at UPR Products in Lake Worth, FL. For this run the car had the stock tune and a Lethal Performance 3″ Offroad X-pipe. Everything else on the car is completely stock. As far as dyno numbers go we’re unable to advertise them as that info will be released in an up and coming 5.0 Mustang Magazine article compliments of editor Steve Turner. We are however able to release information about the gains we got with the 3″ offroad pipe over the stock one. On a completely stock 5.0L we picked up 14rwp with the addition of the 3″ offroad pipe only. This is on the stock tune with the stock manifolds and stock catback. All we did was remove the stock catted H-pipe and put on the Lethal Performance 3″ mandrel bent x-pipe and a 14rwhp gain was achieved. The offroad x-pipes go for 9.00 and will be shipping the first week of July. Our 3″ offroad x-pipe is mandrel bent and is a simple bolt-on modification. No cutting or welding is required. Installation should take less than an hour. You can order them by either calling us over the phone or by placing the order online. Either way we’ll be glad to assist you.
Here’s a short clip of the Lethal Performance 2010 GT500 getting fired up. The car has been under the knife for a few weeks and it’s almost ready to see the dyno. It’s powered by an all aluminum longblock built by Al Papitto of Boss330 Racing and powered by a massive 4.0L Whipple supercharger which is the same blower being used on the 2010 Super Cobra Jet. It started as a great day. Cool air and sun. We got to the track by 8:30am and finally got in and unloaded by 9:30. We had a check list of things to go over before making any runs. One of which was to make sure the 2-step was setup properly. When Jeremy fired the car up and tested the 2 step I noticed a bit of moisture come out of the left tailpipe along with some light white smoke. I honestly thought it may just have been from the car sitting overnight, the cold weather and the 2-step loading up the cylinders with fuel. I really didn’t think anything more than that as the car ran great on the dyno and I had no other reason to believe there was an issue. So we headed to the staging lanes. Lowered the tire pressure to 14psi and made our attempt at our first run with the new setup. The 2-step was set at 3500rpm’s and immediately blew the tires off. The track prep was crap and I’m sure the cold weather didn’t help. Since it was such a horrible launch Jeremy shut down even before shifting into 2nd and aborted the run. Since the car was still cool he rolled back around and got into the staging lane again. Waited a bit for our class and then stepped up again. This time the 2 step set a little lower. Launched the car. Same thing. Blew the tires right off finally got back into it by granny shifting into 2nd and then stayed in it through 3rd and 4th. Well we went to the track last night (2-03-10) to make a couple of runs. It was cool and breezy but with lots of moisture in the air. There was dew all over the cars and the track. We made a few passes on the car with a new spring setup and had some traction issues not only in 1st but 2nd gear as well. The best we were able to crack off was a 9.85@144+mph. That’s with the car sideways even worse then our 9.66@146.19 run. Crazy Jeremy simply stayed in it like last time. We’ll have the car up in the air tomorrow to see what’s going on. We know for sure from this pic though that it’s time for an Anti-Roll Kit from BMR Fabrication. That should definitely help the car from twisting like it is and hopefully help with some of our traction issues. Once we get the suspension dialed in we’re gonna turn things up. The car is also going in for a cage next week so we’ll be sure to post plenty of pics and some videos of that as well.
